Situated in the middle of the Parco del Cilento and stuck between lush green slopes and the sea whose penetrating fragrance fills up the air, ‘ The Estate il Pilaccio nel Cilento ’ is the ideal place to enjoy the colours, the flavours and the odours of nature.
The House was built in 1875 near the old Convent of Santa Maria dei Martiri. In 1400 a small village started to grow around the convent and became famous for a market where local products were sold every Saturday. Being Saturday the market –day, the village was named ‘Forum Sabati’ – Mercato del Sabato (Saturday Market) - later simply renamed ‘Mercato’
Our family villa looks out over the sloping coast bordering the crystalline waters of Punta Licosa Marine Reserve and is surrounded by a beautiful garden with secular trees and colourful varieties of flowers together with terraced olive and vine cultivations viewing the Isle of Capri and the Amalfi Coast. An extension of 110 hectares of woods and a large green area densely planted with olive groves which give a delicious extra-virgin olive-oil produced according to old traditional procedures are to complete the magnificent scenery.
Faithful to the principle of respect for the environment and the need for tranquillity, the Estate il Pilaccio ’ is ready to welcome you into a peaceful and familiar atmosphere for days to spend in complete relax in touch with nature. In its warming hospitality, moreover, nature and culture can find matching interests: either sites of archaeological interest or spots renowned for their lovely natural beauties can be found in a short reach. This makes our resort house the ideal place not only to spend a quiet holiday, but also to get a chance to satisfy your archaeological, historical and artistic interests in excursions to enchanting places such as Paestum, Padula, Velia, Pompei, Capri, Palinuro and the Amalfi Coast.
The place is also rich in events and attractions: from the festivals and the fairs which will introduce you into old genuine tastes and traditions, to fun activities such as boat trips, trekking, horse riding or mountain-biking along the paths edging the suggestive woods, the sea and the charming hills covered with Mediterranean vegetation.

Boat trips to Punta Licosa and the Marine Reserve in Castellabate , discovering numerous rocky coves and small beaches overlooked by majestic pine forestsand large areas of Mediterranean scrub. The two concerts held at sunset on the water at Punta Licosa and dedicated to the mythical Leucosia after whom the island is named, are not to be missed.
Guided tours of the dairy farms of the plain of Paestum , knowing about the various stages in the processing and production of mozzarella di Bufala , with tasting of dairy products. You can also see the processing of leather, tanned with natural methods and buy accessories made by local craftsmen.
For golfers and golf lovers alike, less than an hour from the estate, there is a new 18-hole course.
