Situated in the middle of the National Cilento Park and stuck between lush green slopes and the sea whose penetrating fragrance fills up the air, ‘il Pilaccio nel Cilento’ is the ideal place to enjoy the colours, the flavours and the odours of nature.
Our family villa looks out over the sloping coast bordering the crystalline waters of Punta Licosa Marine Reserve and is surrounded by a beautiful garden with secular trees and colourful varieties of flowers together with terraced olive and vine cultivations viewing the Isle of Capri and the Amalfi Coast. An extension of 110 hectares of woods and a large green area densely planted with olive groves which give a delicious extra-virgin olive-oil produced according to old traditional procedures are to complete the magnificent scenery.
Faithful to the principle of respect for the environment and the need for tranquillity, il Pilaccio is the perfect house to rent for your holiday during your Cilento travel. It is ready to accommodate you into a peaceful and familiar atmosphere for days to spend in complete relax in touch with nature. In its warming hospitality, moreover, nature and culture can find matching interests: either sites of archaeological interest or spots renowned for their lovely natural beauties can be found in a short reach. This makes our resort house the ideal place not only to spend a quiet holiday, but also to get a chance to satisfy your archaeological, historical and artistic interests in excursions to enchanting places such as Paestum, Padula, Velia, Pompei, Capri, Palinuro and the Amalfi Coast.
The place is also rich in events and attractions: from the festivals and the fairs which will introduce you into old genuine tastes and traditions, to fun activities such as boat trips, trekking, horse riding or mountain-biking along the paths edging the suggestive woods, the sea and the charming hills covered with Mediterranean vegetation.
‘The Estate il Pilaccio nel Cilento' is able to combine the pleasures of tranquillity, relax, culture to the pleasure of healthy eating. Genuine local products grown in our orchard will give you an occasion to taste deliciously flavoured dishes belonging to Cilento antique tradition. The local cuisine, in fact, is rich in typical products manufactured following old traditional recipes.
OUR VILLA
Cembalo Palace
The Villa is a wonderful ancient country house built in typical Cilento stone which, through sunset rays, takes rose-like colours. It was built in 1875 as a “country palace” for the Cembalo family who, since its construction, has always taken lovely care to preserve the original structure of its reserved, refined and warm spaces, being motivated by both a deep affection for the place and the wish to hand on family traditions.
The Villa is a 800 square meter (8600 square feet) house with three floors and two terraces, and is arranged to accommodate up to 12 people.
Each room of the villa is furnished with family belongings, old pieces of furniture which perfectly match with the high ceilings, the brickwork floors and the elegant 3mt high windows viewing over the garden and the astonishing sunsets.

Cooking Class

We can organize courses of Cilento-mediterranean cooking to taste the typical dishes of the local cuisine, as homemade pasta or pasta-sauces,meat, side-dishes and much more .
At the end of the cooking class, you will enjoy the delicious Italian food that you yourselves have prepared!
Garden
The huge garden extends for about 3000 square meters (32000 square feet) and is full of flowers, trees, planted terraces with olive trees, fruit trees such as kakis, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts, mulberries, plums, figs, apples, pomegranates. You are welcome to pick you own ripe season fruit straight from the trees!
In the garden there are various relaxation areas and wide patios paved in stone from which you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley and of the sea. The area is equipped with pavilions, brickwork barbecue and many other facilities for adults and games for children. Under the pavilions, you will find tables and chairs, perfect for an outdoor breakfast or meal.
Pool
In the garden there is a splendid private infinity pool which provides a magnificent view of Capri, Ischia, the Amalfi Coast and a broad view of the whole arch-shaped Gulf of Salerno and of the greenery. The pool is approximately 45 square meters (500 square feet), and the area equipped with deck chairs and an external shower.
Rental Terms

We accept booking by email. You will be requested to pay 30% of the cost at the time of booking as a deposit. An additional 20% of the cost must be paid 6 weeks before arrival. The balance will be paid cash by the guests upon arrival in the villa.
Check in time is from 4 pm to 8 pm. Check out is before 10am.

Wineries Tour
Take a day away from the beaches to visit a local winery and taste the wines of the Cilento! There are many wineries where it is possible to do a wines tasting and to see how they’re produced. You’ll delight your palate with the special flavors of the different types of Cilento wine.
Cultural Sites
Cilento is a territory known for its ancient hystory and unchanged traditions. You will be guided in amazing customized tours through wonderful sites such as Paestum, Padula Monastery, Velia, Pompeii along with many other greek and roman sites and medieval villages. Cilento, Unesco world heritage site from 1998, being a national park, will offer you uncontaminated nature and a crystalline sea.
Buffalo Mozzarella dairy tour

In the plain of Paestum there are several buffalo cheese dairy farms where it is possible organize guided tours, knowing about the various stages in the processing and production of Buffalo mozzarella, with tasting of dairy products. You can also see the processing of leather, tanned with natural methods and buy accessories made by local craftsmen.
Boat trips

Boat trips to Punta Licosa and the Marine Reserve in Castellabate are tours that are not to be missed. You can discover numerous rocky coves and small beaches overlooked by majestic pine forests and large areas of Mediterranean scrub. It is definitely the best way to fully experience the crystalline Cilento sea.
Relax and Beauty

If you want a moment of relax , a few km from Pilaccio, there is a wonderful Thalasso Spa. You are immersed in the seawater, which wraps and hugs your body. The salt caresses and purifies your skin, leaving a pleasant sensation. The body is refreshed, the skin is cooled, the mind is slackened. Horse Riding and Trekking
Besides the visits to archeological sites and other historical and artistic wonders of the Cilento, there are many other activities to do: trekking, bike or horse rides in over 180.000 hectares of National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano to discover pristine environments and a rich natural heritage.
